Who are we ?

L’ Amicale du Nid is a national non-profit-making association and is both secular and independent. It was set up in 1946 and we have been working in Marseille since 1961. L’ Amicale du Nid also operates in Paris, Colombes, Épinay sur Seine, Lyon and Montpellier. In the Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur region, l’ Amicale du Nid is represented by an organisation based in Marseille called the CHRS ORION.

The association’s aim is to:

• Welcome and support people involved in prostitution (at risk of prostitution, currently or previously, in situation of prostitution),
• To help and support those it receives and work jointly with them in constructing an alternative situation.
• To implement prostitution prevention measures aimed at everyone
• To carry out campaigns of information, training and research to improve knowledge of the prostitution.

CHRS Orion offers:

• Individual and group reception
• Someone to talk to
• Personalized global social support
• Accommodation
• Contact where prostitution takes place, on the streets, on the road, by day our night and via internet. 

The activities of the association fall within the scope of French abolitionism. It considers prostitution as a form of violence.

Social workers work jointly with people concerned in constructing an alternative situation, one which will enable their social and professional integration.
